Hidden in the deepest darkest ends of the Kirkstall Aire Valley lies this little gem.

Visiting in winter for the first time. It's kind of hidden away and runs alongside a busy railway. Parking is just before a electricity power station just before the railway bridge. It has lots of hidden surprises! In a few months this small place will come to life.. the paths are good but probably hard to get about some places with a pram and wheelchair. There seems to be a nature trail for children that have numbered posts with insects on. It doesn't take long to go around but could spend and hour and a half here especially in the warmer months.
Lovely area of tracks by the river Aire and through woodlands and meadows. A pebble beach area and a couple of weirs.
Ok for a walk in summer however there is a lot of overgrown brush and nettles so caution is advised. Not recommended for lone walkers (particularly females) as parts are isolated. Also children should be supervised as it is easy to fall or slip into the river.
What a beautiful place. Go walk by the weir on the pebble beach. Mosey on up to and across the ford in the river Aire. Mooch around the little froggy ponds and enjoy the birdsong. Lovely isolated spot in the city.
