I have been at Hyde Park Surgery for years and it is by far the best doctors surgery I have ever had and sounds 100 times better than any others. I always hear other people complaining how they cannot get an appointment at their own surgery, or their hold times are lengthy or the doctors aren't good. The service here is second to none! Reception staff GREAT, Nursing staff GREAT, Doctors and GP GREAT. They have supported me through my own needs over the years and have always been very supportive and given me the help I need when I needed it. A brilliant team they have and personally, I am very grateful for everything they have done for me over the years.

I am surprised to read any negative reviews. As someone who moved around quite a bit, this surgery outshines others. I have been a patient here for over four years, and the team is always on hand to offer advice or help and work extremely hard to make sure you receive the best care on time. I have good knowledge of human health, and the doctors here are always spot on with diagnosis and never prescribe your medication unless you need to take it. Thank you for everything.

I would like to make a complaint. First of all, it is not a reflection on the surgery because I think that compared to other GP practices in Leeds this is more patient-friendly. But I was absolutely disappointed by a GP's attitude. He was a weekend doctor who is not normally a part of the staff, I believe. I saw him in regards to my knee injury that had been previously checked at A&E who had then written a note to the GP advising to refer me to a knee clinic. However, the doctor ignored it, prescribing ibuprofen instead and telling me to do absolutely nothing but wait until it improves by itself. I believe it can improve by itself, but I am sure you know that improperly treated injuries become chronic and can cause more serious conditions in the future. Moreover, he was patronising by telling me that he would not give me a sick note because he does not think it prevents me to do my PhD. The fact that walking is painful and that I needed to stay home and therefore skip my time in the lab did not seem serious enough. Besides, generally, I do not think it is a doctors' business to decide what other people's jobs requirements are. I do not know if it is that particular doctor or it is a general GPs' policy to turn everyone away but I am very disappointed and starting to believe it is useless to go to doctors in the UK (unless you're in an immediate danger so that they have no excuse to turn you away with ibuprofen)
