Golf tends to be an elitist pursuit and beyond the means of many. City golf in Leeds maintains a nice course to practise on at a very reasonable rate. If more of our golf clubs took a similar approach to pricing, maybe we'd have more Lee Westwoods to cheer for!

Great place for a nice quick game of golf, it has really reasonable prices, the course itself is not that big but it’s perfect for me who’s just starting out playing golf with my wife. They also have golf carts you can borrow for a pound. Just like every golf course in the world this golf course is best played in the sun shine, afterwards you can also pop in to goals for a well earned pint

9 holes to be played twice. Proper players (I am not one of those) would only use the driver on one of the holes. Not too challenging, we still manage to lose (and find) balls regularly. All for 5 which is unbeatable value. I would suggest avoiding the course after sustained wet weather. It does hold water in places which can be disappointing when it affects your game. Still, I will keep going once a week until I feel ready to face a sterner challenge.

The old adage you get what you pay for really applies here. It's 5 for 18 they say, I'm semi compitent and lost 2 balls round this course. There's the potential to lose half a dozen or more so factor that into your costs. Extremely short holes the shortest being 60 yards, narrow fairways and horrible greens make keeping scores pointless here. It hasn't rained at this point for approximately 2 weeks and the 9th green was unplayable because of how water logged it was. The 2nd green had divots so large they'd swallow your ball and the other greens weren't much better. The 6th tee box had 2 middle aged fellas sat drinking cans of lager like they were at the park. A little off putting when you're teeing off 10 yards in front of them. All in all a decidedly miserable round.

The greens are in need of attention, but it's great to play friendly golf. No ones on your back to be good . So go and enjoy . I'll be back again great for beginners
