Really delicious and affordable from Myanmar's oldest Kyay Oh noodle shop! Definitely recommend coming here and getting their Kyay Oh Si Chat (dry noodles) with vermicelli noodles. The deep fried wantons are really delicious too! :D

The actual name of the restaurant is Kyay Oh King. So this is the name that you should look at when the map shows you. The noodle and soup taste great. Quite pricey for any food in Yangon but the portion is HUGE. so totally worth it. A lot of people come here for a small shop. U might want to wait your turn for a table.
Opened since 1968, which makes them oldest Kyay Oh shop in Myanmar! Location is great - just beside Junction City. Can be crowded during lunch time. The food is just fantastic! Must try their 'Kyay Oh Si Chat' and wanton Definitely will visit agn
Huge portions for 3800 kyats for a “small” dish. I thought the side dish of wontons (2000 kyats) was the main thing until the pork khay oh came out. Been in business for 50 years and you can see why. No frills dining. No air con, just fans. Service was great too!!
They serve more than enough. But the taste of glutamate is less than before. We are longing for the time when Kyay Oh Bayin was born in 1968, enjoying it's delicious cuisine by paying small amount of coins. (Nowadays coins had almost disappeared from myanmar currencies) .
Pros- * HUGE serving sizes (I'd recommend taking the smallest one even if you're hungry) * The restaurant is one of the oldest if not THE oldest serving Kyay oh in town * Very reasonable pricing, a bowl of medium Kyay Oh will only set you back around 4000 MMK * The staff are quite friendly and even explained how to approach the dish when we appeared to be struggling Cons- * The dish itself is nothing special, detailed review below * Hygiene/Cleanliness is a slight issue but we probably had the worst seats in house to be fair, right at the entrance opening out to the street where the smells/dust would be greatest Details- Kyay Oh is essentially a soup made from the bones and intestine (?) of the animal. To complete the dish, there are pieces of steamed/boiled meat and organs, boiled eggs, your choice of noodle and greens in the soup. For anyone unfamiliar with Kyay Oh as we were when we ate here, I'll try my best to describe what it tastes like- We ordered a pork Kyay Oh with flat rice noodles. Not much to say about the noodles; the broth itself has quite a strong yet not pungent flavour of pork. It isnt spiced at all from what I could taste and only lightly seasoned. The pieces of pork were also rather devoid of any real flavour- being simply boiled and not spiced/seasoned. These are to be eaten with the condiments kept on the table- soy, chilli and a sweet chilli sauce. With these they do taste pretty good. There was the surprise presence of a few organs in the soup which I was not expecting, prepared similarly to the meat. Im not a huge fan of organs in general but am not letting this affect the review. All in all I'd say it was a decent experience, but dont consider it worthy of a return
Massive serving for "small" size. Taste is also pretty good.
The taste is good but this place is really dirty.
