Dave is an amazing host. Whether it was a.m. coffee, hassle-free (and inexpensive) scooter rentals or laundry. Everything you need is at Thai Smile. Lek is a ridiculously great chef. I had the Massuman curry twice and couldn’t get enough. Just get to the restaurant early as the tables go fast! The location is off the main road, so it’s nice and quiet. There are only 6 bungalows and they are very clean and well appointed. The bed was comfortable, fresh sheets and towels every two days. Shampoo and soap provided as well as free water in a reusable water bottle. Lucky and Mr. Concrete (the cats) will keep you company as well. And the garden around the bungalows is gorgeous! The beach at Klong Khong is a bit rocky, so it’s okay to swim in at higher tide, but not so much at low tide. However, it makes up for it with great bars, restaurants and epic sunsets. This was more than a place to stay. We made great friends here and were so sad to leave!!!!

I didn’t stay in the bungalows, but went there for lunch as being recommended by a friend who stayed there twice and loved it! Incredible food! I had curry with shrimps and wow - it was delicious. I got a free water as well. Perfect service.
Incredible food! We had all kinds of curry, mango salad, cashews chicken and all was delicious. We spent every lunch and dinner of our holidays there!
Being cynical in my old age I didn't anticipate this would live up to the reviews and it didn't, it completely exceeded them. The food is the best I have had so far in Thailand and the rooms are clean, tidy and have everything you could need. Nice beaches are within easy walking distance but the bungalows are nice and quiet. The service is second to none, thanks Lek and Dave for a great stay and we are sad to leave.
Incredible place to stay and best veggie food we’ve had in Thailand. If you come to Koh Lanta and don’t stay in Thai Smile Bungalows- you must be crazy! It is such an incredible value for money (super clean rooms, AC, great setting, good shower, nice balcony to chill at).. 50 minutes walk to Long Beach, you can also grab a tuk tuk and be there in 15. This place has everything. Owner Dave is great, super helpful and friendly. What I have to mention- this place does incredible food, we’ve had insane curries and pad thai and fried noodles- my personal favourite. For curries just ask Dave for recommendation - shu shi curry was beyond tasty! They have chicken and pork meals , but as we don’t eat meat they tailored it perfectly with tofu and vegetables. We are sad that we’re leaving tomorrow, would love to stay longer!
Great stay, 3 nights was not enough. Quiet and clean, excellent service and local knowledge. Modern with a Thai twist, will definitely come back.
We stopped for dinner at Thai Smile. The chap waiting on us was very friendly and the food was well priced and tasty. A few glasses of wine washed it all down perfectly.
Absolutely love Dave and Lek!!! Missing them already. Dave is so accommodating, friendly, and helpful. Lek is a legendary chef and will have you coming back to the restaurant to try another dish each day as you meet another lovely guest at their quaint boutique experience. The site is lush and beautifully decorated with tons of gorgeous plants, koi fish ponds, ornate pieces and temples. The experience is relaxed, professional, and helpful. The staff are kind, thorough, and quick to smile and greet you everyday. Can’t say enough nice things about Thai Smile Bungalows. Highly recommend them for your next visit to Koh Lanta.
