Nice place to visit, especially during festivals. The structure is maintained well by archeological department of India. Presence of the holy river Gomti adds to the beauty of the place. Clean surrounding and maintained garden here attracts the tourist. Ticket cost is not much as compared to the beauty of the place and maintenance costs put on by the government of India. Reachability: The historical monument is well linked by road. Jaunpur junction(JNU) and Jaunpur city(JOP) stations are nearly 1&2_2.5 km away from the fort . Babatpur Airport (nearly 30-35 km away) facilitates the foreign tourists also. Historical bridge i.e. SHAHI PUL can also be seen from the fort additionally Sadbhawna PUL has a charming beauty at the time of sunset

According to historians, the city of Jaunpur was inhabited by Shah Feroz of Tughlaq dynasty in the medieval period. The settlement of Jaunpur city was done by Feroz Shah in the 14th century in memory of his cousin Muhammad bin Tughlaq, whose real name was Jauna Khan. Historians claim that the city was named after Jauna Khan. The ancient tomb on the side of the Allahabad-Gorakhpur highway in Sipah locality is of Shah Feroz. But Feroz Shah, who settled this city, has been forgotten. There is considerable encroachment around the mausoleum. The Archaeological Survey Department has completed its responsibility by laying siege to the tomb with a wire fence.
