You have to eat here.126 has always been a hidden Iowa City gem for me, my whole life. Their local farm to table menu, passionate owners & staff shine through their food. I love grabbing lunch here by myself, especially during patio season. I've celebrated New Years Eve, with an amazing tasting menu. I've also attended extremely small and intimate weddings, in this beautiful space. Understand that eating here, with the open kitchen and lovely exposed brick makes you feel part of the community and is right for pretty much any occasion.

This is billed as an upscale French restaurant. I don’t know if we caught them on an off night or what. The lamb was passable but I didn’t like the watery texture of the polenta. My husband had the hanger steak which was way overpriced for chewy meat and a huge plate of French fries. The desserts were delicious. They have an extensive wine selection and a full bar but no cocktail menu.

Our service was absolutely incredible. Our server, Matthew, was very kind and helpful to what was on the menu. The food was great and wonderfully cooked. The inside is on the smaller side but is warm and cozy all at the same time. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Iowa City. We had one of the best meals of the year here.

This place is SOOOOO good! They have great vegan and gluten-free options!! It’s also celiac friendly! The owner was so nice and helpful. We all felt so welcomed and taken care of. Basically, everything is house made! We will definitely be back!

Really high quality food. Their produce is top notch. Best salads in Iowa city. The samosas were made in-house and really delicious. A tad on the pricey side, but well worth it. This is among the best and freshest food I've had in Iowa City.
