Our most recent visit was for the Spanish evening. It was one of the most delicious experiences I've ever had! Beautifully presented with so many flavours. Every course was exquisite. Everyone is very helpful and friendly. We're so lucky to have this gem of a place so local.

Birthday Meal for our son. Lovely food spoilt by very poor service. This was our first visit and was clear from the start this restaurant seems to focus heavily on its regulars. We paid up front two weeks ago and were asked to choose fish/meat or vegan. At no point during the evening were we told how many dishes or even what we were gong to be served. In fact after 30 mins I decided to ask the waitress what was happening. Now, considering it turned out there were only 2 dishes to remember she couldn't tell us and went away to what we thought was to find out and come back and tell us, but no ! Turns out we paid for pollock on wild rice which was nicely cooked followed by what the owner described as looking like a breakfast but everyone was raving about, which was mouse with apricots and granola. Feel sorry for what is clearly a very talented young chef, being let down by front of house lack of service and actually poor body language. Our dessert arrived without any cutlery, the owner, served it us, walked off and spent a couple of minutes speaking with what I assumed was a friend / regular leaving us wondering how to eat the pudding. He finished his chat fetched some spoons and strolled back to us... unbelievable. It also took the waitress 25mins to sort our drinks out and we had to grab her attention to order those. 1st impressions are important and we won't be going back, as can jump on a bus into Notts or Derby and book many a restaurant that serves food on par and better, and quite frankly get far better service and attention. A real shame.

Was told about this place by a friend. What a find it was! Pretty hidden away but the food and coffee is amazing. Happy staff what seems like a family business, doing something they love. They deserve to be busy every day and years of success.

Very pleased we decided to eat here. There's a surprising amount of variety on a relativity small menu, but the food is all freshly prepared and extremely good. All of the staff were pleasant and helpful and the tables are not too close, allowing you to fully relax

Very nice clean and modern venue. They serve breakfasts and cakes etc in the day. At the weekends in the evening it's fine tapas style dishes. Where their new chef Jacob serves very tasty dishes. One of the best food venues in ILSON.
