Went here with my wife who's the Bengali in family. I was hoping to give her an authentic Bengali food experience in Hyderabad and we weren't disappointed. My review is mostly based on my wife's reaction to food and she said it tastes as good as food from Kolkata. Food was cooked to perfection and fish was tender. The price of food here would burn a hole in your pocket but the taste of the food almost caught up with the price. I would definitely give multiple visits to try out other dishes on the menu. However it's not worth a second visit to eat the same dish for that price.

Oh what a meal! We visited Oh Calcutta at Shiparaman, Hyderabad this Christmas and the food was awesome, delectable to say the least. The service is equally mentionable where the service manager tried in every possible way to make us feel comfortable. When it comes to Bengali cuisine, Oh Calcutta is perhaps the place you want to visit.

Debjit Mandal

One of the finest Bengali fine dining restaurant chains in India. A lot of credit goes to this place for spreading the the taste of Bengal to different parts of the country . The menu is quite extensive covering meat, poultry, fish, seafood and vegetarian options. All bengalis are non vegetarians, hence the vegetarian dishes are limited. To be honest, if you are vegetarian then skip this place as the best dishes are not vegetarian. The quality of the food is always top notch. The price is steep but it's worth it. the decor is subtle and reminds of old Calcutta homes. Fish with mustard and prawns with coconut are a must have. You may need to book a table if going on weekends.

Oh Calcutta is a Brand that Introduced, many Indians to the Joy of Bengali Cuisines. If you are True Hardcore of Bengali Cuisines, this would be the best place to try the Bengali cuisines. Recently I got an Opportunity to attend Hilsa Festival at Begumpet, Hyderabad. Hilsa Festival – Hilsa is said to be “ The Queen of Fish”. As the Monsoon arrives the Tradition of HILSA- said to be the pride of Bengal. It has quite different taste from the regular fish you have at any restaurant. It is said that occasions are incomplete, when ILLISH is not served . Would be sharing my experience : 1-\tAmbience : The outlet of Oh ! Calcutta occupies the bottom floor of a multi –stored building devoted entirely to Speciality Group Restaurant. The 2 Dining Rooms are sparsely Decorated, while during the entrance you will find the Bookshelves , Black Framed and White Photographs , and portrait of Bengali’s Theatre Artist. 2-\tFood : we were served few authentic Bengali Cuisines , (a)Illish Fish Fingers (b)Mocchar Fish Chhana Korai Shutir Chop (d)Bhetki Fish Fry (e)Murshidabadi Murgi Fry (f)Chana Aam Kashundi Paturi (g)Chingri Malai Curry (h)Fish Tomatoer Jhal (i)Meghna Majhidaar Illish (j)Laal Lonkar Illish (k)Bhapa Illish (l)Aam Tel Illish
