Popped in for nostalgia reasons, was me local 9 year back, before going down to London. Down to earth town centre pub, rough around the edges and decor.. Was pleasantly surprised at the Southern prices for the cider, 4.40 \its premium you know\. Lovely touch, so that I wouldn't miss Sarfend... No TV for sports, no music, no mobiles...

Characterful Samuel Smith's pub in the centre of Huddersfield. Serves Samuel Smith's range of lager, ale, stout and bottled fruit ales alongside spirits and soft drinks. There is a rule prohibiting use of electronic devices in the pub. There is a pool table to the back of the pub. Access to the pub is step free and staff are noticeably friendly.
Superb pub. Well kept by friendly staff. First room on left is a cosy snug with glass cabinet filled with old glass bottles. Real fires . Barman Jay is a real gentleman, he not only found my reading glasses but fixed them and cleaned them too. Thanks Jay.
Good pub lots of different people who hold different convo
Good priced beer, and low alcohol which was nice. But sheltering from the rain, being on my own was told they have a no phone policy... SORRY. you are not allowed to use your mobile... Even when sat on your own with no one to talk to....
