Husband and wife team Wade Ueoka and Michelle Karr-Ueoka’s MW Restaurant, which focuses on Hawaiian regional cuisine has been one of our favorite restaurants in Honolulu. They closed their old location at the end of last year and reopened at their new location on the second floor of the Velocity Honolulu right above their more casual eatery, Artizen by MW, last night. Since I had the opportunity to attend their much anticipated soft opening, I am going to write a review in order to shed light on what to expect at their new location. Their menu has a mix of both old favorites like the mochi crusted fish as well as new items, and their five course tasting menu gives you a good sense of what to expect. It comes with an amuse bouche, a selection of five small bites, which includes items like the Kona lobster roll and the Spam Musubi, which is an upgraded version of the local snack using wagyu beef spam and comes on a mochi dango instead of a bed of rice, mochi crusted Kona Kampachi, grilled Kona lobster and Bristol Bay scallop medallion, truffle braised short rib, and tropical fruit creamsicle brûlée. They also have a wide selection of craft and classic cocktails as well as wine, beer, and nonalcoholic beverages. Their service is still exceptional and I can’t wait to go back to try everything else on their new menu, especially the strawberry shave ice!

MW Restaurant is another farm-to-table phenomenal foodie safe haven in Honolulu that is making such a buzz you have to go and treat yourself to a decadent meal from beginning to end. The savory local catch/grown apps & entrees, topped off with probably the most amazing desserts the island has to offer makes this restaurant the talk of the town. Please take time to look at the posted pics and really look at the love this restaurant puts into their food. The trademark of the 2 forks making an MW just shows their innovation, thoughtfulness and preparation they put into everything this restaurant has to offer The front of the house, the bartender and most of all their attitude in delivering a wold class dining service makes MW my favorite restaurant in all of Hawaii. Chef Michelle provided the finishing-touches to see how much we enjoyed our meal. It was truly honor and pleasure to meet her! Recommendation: Shaved Ice is the best on the island. No need for me to explain. You need to go there and try it yourself. I never have two desserts and had to have it twice. So fresh...so clean

I kind of forgot to give this place a good review since my fiancé and I were having such a good time at Leavenworth! We stopped by here to grab some hot coffee and donuts before exploring. Coffee was amazing and the donuts were fresh made in-house.

Amazing food, service, and experience! Every course brought excitement with its presentation and creativity. At one point I dropped my fork accidentally and it was immediately (like literally one second later) replaced with a new one. Everyone was so nice and they all wished my parents a happy anniversary.

My favorite has got to be the mochi crusted fish. I love that it is still crunchy even after the drive from town to Waipahu. It also pairs well with the somen noodles and pickled vegetables. I did notice the pickled veggies were different from the last time but it did not take away from just how good this dish was.

This meal was amazing thanks so much to everyone at MW for making our 10th anniversary dinner just perfect! Dion our server was so knowledgeable about the prep and menu totally made the dining experience! Can't wait to come back.
