I had to write to tell you about the amazing experience I had today at Harrogate. Great service from both the counter and reception team. Nothing seemed to phase them and all my issues were dealt with in an extremely friendly and professional way. Well done team you should be extremely proud of yourselves.

Extremely unhelpful staff members who do minimum effort to try and resolve a query. I had to resort to going to the Leeds, York and Bradford branches where I got excellent customer service of the same query the Harrogate branch was dismissive of. Ended up closing the account due to the attitude of some members of staff at this branch.
Just had an excellent experience at Nationwide Harrogate, opening accounts for 2 children. Paula pulled out all the stops to get both children done immediately, on a Saturday morning - thank you Paula!
Staff are always friendly, helpful and very obliging. Good, efficient service with a smile.
Terrible experience in the Harrogate branch. Customer service person I was meant to receive support from was so dismissive and passive aggressive. He made out that I had wrongly entered my details online and that's why I wasn't appearing on the branch systems. The information he gave was unclear and confused and he appeared to want to send me on my way rather than deal with my situation any further. He then realised his error in not having asked me when I had set up an account on the Nationwide website and he did apologise, but the information he provided changed again about the process I needed to go through to open an account. I wanted to enquire why the information had now changed, but I didn't want any further interaction with him and instead walked out in utter disgrace at his customer service manner, especially with a new customer. EDIT - It's intriguing and something I've only just noticed.. there appears to be lots of positive 5* reviews that have popped up since I wrote this originally?! Seems suspicious, although I hate to suggest that this was done solely to counteract the poor reviews. I just can't see how service that was so poor could have received 5* from others.
