Went for Valentine's Day 2020 and really enjoyed ourselves! The interior is gorgeous and they had heart balloons on each table - super cute! The food was really good and we enjoyed a fixed price menu. Cocktails were a bit expensive but it was a nice splurge for the holiday. Only suggestion would have been to dim the lights a bit more for a bit more ambiance. Will definitely be back when lockdown is lifted!

Great food! Very nice menu with loempias to start and ricepudding to finish. All the dishes were quite good. Ambiance a bit noisy but very friendly staff and service

Cafe Samabe has it all. Set on a corner in Haarlems oldtown the restaurant's pleasant atmosphere makes you feel at home at once. Fast and caring staff serving you the classics of the Indonesian cuisine. Take a dish with various small portions of meat, vegetables, fish and rice and you are set to enjoy a fantastic meal. Reservation is not necessary but may be needed when you are with more than 2 people. Just lovely!

Very cool ambiance and tasty food. Staff was kind and helped us choosing a suitable menu for us. There's a vegetarian option for those who aren't into meat. Not cheap but I think it's normal considering the place itself and the fact that it's Central Haarlem. A good choice.

Probably the best Indonesian restaurant we’ve tried in the NL. Very tasty and no deep fried corner cutting. We were late and they kept the table for us, much appreciated. Beautiful building, setting and decoration. Obviously a hot spot! Service was so so, especially the manager (at least we think), who was rather rude to us, but in the end it seems like quite the standard here in the Netherlands.
