The store is called Family Zoo, yet when i wanted to buy a bird or a fish for me and my children they said they weren't good for kids. Also I get the impression they only want to sell their overpriced birdcages and aquariums. I have always owned a budgerigar and I know how to take care for one, but they insisted that I don't know anything about birds because I din't want to buy a 200 EUR cage.

We stopped out of curiosity - the building is quite large. We were thrilled to see that it does not seem like a glossy, commercial chain store pushing product. It seems run like a locally owned shop (maybe it is?). The staff was lovingly (my word, peinlich for the Arbeiterin), caring for a bird they acquired that was a bit malnourished. Also, we inquired about ordering housepets (rat and gerbil) and staff said they intentionally do not keep overstock of animals on sight - out of thought of the animals; though they recommend not going through an unknown private seller due to possible disease and health issues. We found them with the heart of a animal shelter. We also say, as a reviewer \criticized\, that an item tag had fallen off. For us, it was not a problem, the price was reasonable and it worked out great for our fish. We also bought a couple of cat snuggle-beds. The cats couldn't have been happier.
