One star is for the good weather and nice view. You would give this place five stars if you: (1)Like waiting forever for your food and having to ask how long away your food is, to be told they're cooking it now. When really you know the truth is that they forgot about your order as it's been close to an hour, people that arrived well after you have received their food, and the place is quiet now too. (2) Think your squid coming from the freezer is fantastic! Especially once cooked it has turned to rubber, got a nice dry bland coating, and can eat straight away as it's so cold. (3) Love consistency, especially for well cooked seafood, that is so dry that you cannot tell that your fish was ever in the sea.

There were only 3 restaurants open when I was there, so there wasn't much choice. Ordered a Beef & Reef, the steak I ordered was supposed to be medium rare but came out well done, the source was ok and so was the chip, however, the seafood for the "reef" was salty. If you in the area, walk around 1-2 blocks toward the town centre and you will find a lot more choices for food.
The waiting time was terrible, we spent more than 1hour 15mins for the meal. My husband asked waitress how long to wait and they weren’t care much just said to my husband: they are not the one cooking and don’t know how long to take, they try their best.” I ordered grilled salmon with cooked vegetables, however it came up with salmon with chips and salad. grilled salmon was delicious, my husband ordered seafood pasta was also great. In a word, if you don’t mind the waiting time and the quality of the service, this is a good place to go, nice bay view and food. If you can’t spend much time in the restaurant and prefer good restaurants service, don’t go!
Booked here on Sunday for lunch, great location, vibe was just what you would expect from a waterfront restaurant, bustling with people enjoying the beautiful weather and location. Service was excellent, staff friendly and the meals were generous. My wife had the calamari entree followed by the mussels as a main whilst I tried the steak which was cooked to perfection. Prices were reasonable and well worth the visit and would recommend dropping in for lunch.
Lunch couldn't have been better with friends and family. Loved the ambience and staff were very courteous accomodating all our needs. Food was delicious and drinks were attractive. Wanted to try coffee next time.
Where do I start? We should have heeded the warnings from overhearing other customers as we arrived state that they had been waiting over an hour for their food, but to be honest we were a little hungover & every surrounding place was quite busy, so here we stayed. We were seated relatively promptly, and soon decided on our order. And then we waited...and waited...and waited. After 1 hour our drinks came out: one long black (correct) and one cappuccino.... wait, we ordered an orange juice, not a cappuccino! The server argued the point, and showed us the ticket that said cappuccino!! I don't drink coffee, so I certainly wouldn't have said cappuccino, but after a short argument, the coffee was returned and the orange juice put in its place. A further 20 minutes went by (so an hour and 20 minutes in total since ordering) and out comes our food. My partner ordered 2 extra eggs with his breakfast which were missing, and we politely informed the server of this & to her credit she immediately remembered this, and went to the kitchen to inform them. My poached eggs: essentially water with a drop of egg! Absolutely terrible!! My entire plate ended up water logged! After my partner & I had both finished our meals, another 10 minutes went by & out comes a bowl with the 2 extra poached eggs that my partner had ordered! The two eggs were sitting almost completely covered by water! No extra piece of toast, no apologies, just a bowl of water with 2 soggy poached eggs!! Such a waste of a potentially great cafe/restaurant! It's quite sad because as they say, location, location, location! Unfortunately this is one to avoid completely until you see an 'under new management' sign!
55 minutes of waiting for Fish and chips and Prawn avocado salad !!! Paid for it and never chance to eat it!! Poor management and customer service, economy on employing staff. We were told that we may wait for about 30 minutes before our ordered meals land on our table, and we agreed to wait.. But 30 minutes were far much longer! We asked why the people who came 30 minutes later than us have already got their food, and we are still waiting...The manager said, because those people ordered food on the tray to share. So people who order a tray to share are privileged.?! Dodgy. We felt discriminated, and could not comprehend the mindset of this place, and our hunger was gone. We couldn’t wait longer due to other plans to do! We came to a payment point for a refund, but manager refused to give it to us, saying that our order just delivered to our table. But was it matter, if we had no time left for eating?! We did not touch our food, we did not even see what it looks like..we were upset and we had to leave in hurry for other commitments..
*****AVOID***** 6/3/21 Bayside Burger had zero flavour (half of the beef patty was burnt but at least that part had some flavour!!) The chips were way way way too oily, more oil than potato!! Ordered 2 coffees and they get the award as the worst coffee we have had in years. Overall very disappointing. Would never go back They need to improve big time!
