The Buchhorner was a great way to spend 2 nights in the scenic city of Friedrichshafen. The hotel sits right on the main street that runs past the beautiful Lake Constance. This provides great access to the lake, its water front, restaurants and the ferry that crosses to Switzerland. And this is all within 15 minutes of walking. There is also access to a beautiful nature walk that seems to ultimately circumnavigate the lake! The hotel room was clean, modern and warm, with some rooms having lake views. The parking at the back of the hotel is open, unprotected and expensive. The hotel breakfasts are lavish and the staff here, and at the front desk, are friendly and professional.

Perfect location right next to Bodensee... Good quiet air conditioning to keep us comfortable on hot summer nights. Very good sound proofing. Shiny clean interiors and bathrooms.
Nice and clean hotel and comfortable rooms. Very friendly staff!
Look and feel of my room: 2/5 Look and feel of the hotel: 2/5 Tidyness: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Food: 4/5 Was here for a business trip. Only a few parking lots available and I did not find any parking signs of the hotel. They have garages to rent. If you're not lucky enough to park in the streets you need to spend 15 per day in a public garage nearby. Sea access close by. Building is from late medieval times and partially the furniture looks that old, too. I recognised a smoking smell in the lobby. Staff was friendly and helpful. Check in was good. A single room comfort was booked for me with a 1.4m wide bed. The room is small with curtains which do not black out, an empty but running fridge making noise at night and a TV too big for the room. Bathroom is tiny but with tub. No air con in my room. They offer sauna and usage of a whirlpool (extra payment). Meeting rooms are okay. The rest rooms below meeting area smelled like it has not been flushed down for a long time. The hotel offers two course lunch, coffee and tea for the meeting attendees. Lunch tasted good. I had dinner in the restaurant which was tasty and we'll arranged. Service was good and professional. To sum up, this hotel is too expensive. I paid 160 per night excluding breakfast. On vacation I never would pay that much for such a hotel.
I suppose it is one of the best place to stay near Bodensee in Friedrichshafen. Breakfast is so delicious there. Rooms are clean and comfortable. And atmosphere is amazing too :) It is worth to stay at this hotel!
Location was ideal, a short walk to Lake Konstanz with plenty of restaurants along the front. Our room was clean and very adequate with a sofa. Minibar was empty and the bottle of water provided was already opened. Shower cubicle somewhat small. Dog barking at night and early morning in a neighbouring room. Breakfast was very poor considering the price. We had expected restrictions due to COVID but the daily breakfast parade was unsatisfactory. It took place in a large hall (i imagine to allow good distance between tables). We had to book a time for breakfast in advance with half hour slots. Self service was not allowed, instead we had to join a queue and tell the person stood behind a buffet style layout what we wanted. Guests had to adhere to the appropriate protection measures yet incorrectly positioned masks were worn daily by some breakfast staff where it only covered their mouths and not noses, cleaning staff hadn’t worn a mask at all?! The staff member serving our food wore her mask incorrectly every morning! This is just not acceptable. Breakfast was poor considering the amount we paid. A very limited basic choice was on offer. No fresh or good selection of rolls. Only white rolls. Scrambled egg was always cold and sometimes tasted of onion. If you wanted more food you had to go up and queue again. One morning we queued for 15 minutes. It was so poorly organised and you could see staff were very stressed. Some were unfriendly and not at all welcoming. If they are going to offer a breakfast like that at least reduce the price to reflect the quality and standard.
We were looking for a nice hotel to enjoy friedrichshafen for 3 days. So we booked 2 nights via Booking.com. we also reservated a parking spot offered by the hotel. I doubt if there are any parkingspots that belong to the hotel, because they told us there where no parkingspots avalaible but we could hire a garagebox for more money per day. However, the rooms where okay and the hotel is located right in front of the boulevard and Bodensee which is a pretty good location. 3 star rating could have been a 4 star rating if we could use our booked and paid parkingspot.
Good location, clean room, aircon, friendly reception staff, good breakfast, would stay again.
