The church has a modest appearance on the outside. However, it is well worth a pilgrimage there to pray to St. Peregrine, whose body is encased and preserved in a glass display and accessible for viewing up close, in one of the side chapels. Also, the common prayer room of the monks of the Servants of Mary where the miracle happened is available as well to pilgrims, where he prayed to Jesus on the cross pictured in an elaborate fresco on the wall, and fell asleep and dreamed of the same Jesus from the fresco, descending from the cross and healed his cancer. He woke up and found himself healed. The Church is closed from Noon to 4PM, but if you come to worship St Pellegrino during those hours, you may ring the door bell around the side of the church leading to the convent of the Servants of Mary, and the priests there will be happy to greet you and let you in. They are very kind and welcoming, and eager to talk about their patron saint. I would come back again, even though I have travelled many thousand miles to get here in the first place and found the church locked! I prayed St. Pellegrino, desperately walking around the compound to find some sign of life, and found the doorbell and rang it without much hope, but then a miracle happened for me too! Thank you for this gift of grace and blessings!

Basilica Santuario poco conosciuta ma molto importante per la presenza delle cappellina in onore di San Pellegrino Laziosi protettore contro i tumori raffigurato con una tela del pittore Simone Cantarini del17 simo secolo .

Io amo questa chiesa perche' fra i frati era presente un caro amico che è mancato anni fa per una leucemia fulminante. Spesso sono andata a Messa ed ho pregato le spoglie di San Pellegrino. Si prega il Santo perché interceda presso il Padre per le guarigioni di chi è affetto da un tumore.
