I would highly recommend European Scanning in Cardiff. They have a very good set up and are very professional, however the team were very helpful and kind. They have made the environment as Covid-19 secure as possible, minimising the risk. I had several MRI’s at a top private hospital last year and the European Scanning Centre in Cardiff was a much better experience.

Hi there I suffer dreadfully with anxiety, and claustrophobia . I have suffered for years with my back but each time I've been asked to go for a MRI Scan it use to send me into a panic attack. But this time I knew I had to have one and I was going to Cardiff for the open scanner. I was anxious before I went I kept telling myself I could do it ...... it's very easy to get to the second you walk in it's very calming there is no hospital smell the staff are excellent . A lady came to collect me after having a lovely chat with a member of the staff. You have a spotless room to put your clothes etc with a lockable cupboard. Walking in to where the scanner is is bright airy with a calm atmosphere. The lady explained everything I got on the bed with soft comfy pillows and cushions for my legs and the buzzer . I had cushions under my elbows as well . If you look on the demo you'll see two blue dots to where you lie between. I had music in the ear phones . Ok it was noisy but nothing to panic over. My scan was for 20mins it was over very quickly. ...... To anyone who decides to go please go as if this was around years ago I would have gone like a shot. I Would without a doubt go again if need be. Thank you to everyone who organised this for me and big thank to the lovely staff who a fantastic.
Having had a really bad shoulder since March this year- I though the only way forward was to have an MRI scan to find out exactly what is wrong! But being very claustrophobic this was something I thought I could never have. UNTIL I found the European Scanning Centre in Cardiff. Their MRI scanner is the only Non-Claustrophobic open MRI in Wales. They got me an appointment within 2 days. On arrival I was greeted by Nicola the receptionist to a very grand reception area, the deco was amazing and she made me feel at ease and made me very comfortable.. My husband and my father was with me and they were also made very welcome. They were offered a coffee while they waited for me. I was taken the the Scanning room by Carol Ann which again I was made to feel at ease, I was explained in detail what was going to happen and the scan went ahead with no trouble. I was kept informed at all times. I was insured that my results would be with my doctor within 24 hours. I'd like the thank Nicola- Carol Ann -Mel for everyone they did for me, and would definitely recommend anyone to go to this Centre. It's a week now since I went to the centre and as they promised my results were with my doctor within 24 hours. What a great service. Well done to all concerned.
