I recently purchased numerous, beautiful, healthy orchids for my birthday. The owner was very helpful and delivered gorgeous plants that went beyond my expectations. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for fabulous orchids that are different from ones purchased at a big box store. I think it’s hilarious and insane that another reviewer expects a free T-shirt because they willingly spent a lot of money on orchids. Running a greenhouse isn’t cheap and orchids are expensive to grow. It’s also easy to ask staff for the prices—both people working were very helpful to myself and my husband and very up-front. But I guess some people expect Walmart prices for their orchids.
Ordered an orchid from here. Box arrived beat up to say the least, and I was really worried about the condition of the plant. But due to the BEAUTIFUL packing job, the orchid itself was in pristine condition. 100/10.
Beautiful selection of orchids! The staff was very friendly and helpful and I’m just overjoyed with my new zygo & oncidium :) thank you so much for my new gorgeous plants. Was so nice to meet other orchid enthusiasts and they clearly are very passionate about their plants.
They are lovely people who do very good work. I will return in spring for more blooms!
I'm a young orchid enthusiast. I have been looking forward to visiting J & L for some time. I drove hours to visit them from my home in Brooklyn. Lukas, the staff was knowledgable and verbose. When it came time for ringing up my purchases, the prices were unclear, and the total surprisingly high. Thats ok, I want to support a small orchid farm. I feel kindred. Upon walking out of the space, he ran up after me, explaining he failed to ring up the promotional shirt I had bought. I said I had already spent more than I could afford, and if he wanted the shirt back he could have it. He said yes, please give it back. Not to be petty, but frankly, this business needs to support the love and care that its customers bring. I felt strongly offput by the overall interaction, despite making significant effort to support them. J & L, if you make a mistake at the register, swallow the error. I wont come back, in part because I feel like there is a responsibility to reciprocate the care your customers bring. Range and specificity of orchid hybrids is aweseome. Lots of minis to choose from. Respect and care from staff bad. I'll give you my address, send me the t shirt. I want to promote ya'll!
