This a very pleasant sauna to visit on the outskirts of Dewsbury. There is limited parking just outside the sauna, but there are some free spaces in Woodville Road. The entrance gives no indication that it's a sauna and looks a bit rundown, but 33 Leeds Road is prominently signed. Open Daily From 12 noon – 10pm (CLOSED TUESDAYS). Promptly at 12:00, up goes the shutter door! Inside, the staff are very welcoming and are happy to show you around. On the ground floor are the lockers, tables for snacks (pretty basic microwave food, but adequate) and drinks and free internet. Down the stairs to the wet area with steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi (bit difficult to get into). Opposite are the rest rooms, g.h’s and video monitors. The sauna can get quite busy with a mixed aged clientele, ranging from early 20's to 60's with plenty of action. Entry is 14 with 5 lifetime membership (if you approach the reception with confidence, you may get away with it – if you want to be shown around, obviously you wont!). There are concessions for seniors, unwaged and students at 10.50. There is also Early Bird entry between 12 - 12:30 at 10.50. After 18:00 entry is 9. All in all, well worth a visit.

We have been to this place due to the positive reviews it has on here, but we have not been pleased. The place is nice, clean and friendly and the customer service is absolutely amazing. On the other hand, we visited this place during one of the busiest times (according to Google) and there were about 15 people, with a mix of Asian and old guys. We would had liked to spend some time in the tube, but it was busy as the same people remained in it for the entire time of our visit (about 1 hour). Sauna and steam room were fine, but the corridor with cubicles was too small, with people obstructing the doors, and some panels that made the corridor smaller that it actually is. We decided to leave and we will not come back.

I've been going to Plastic Ivy for around 17 years on and off. The customer service always remains consistent with friendly welcoming staff and the venue itself being spotlessly clean and inviting. All amenities are kept clean and in good order with lots of products available to use at no extra cost. Food and drinks are available in the cafeteria upstairs with a good selection of products provided. I've been to a few Saunas over the years but Plastic Ivy still remains one of my favourites.

The Ivy is small but clean and friendly I find Monday and Wednesday afternoons are best but like any sauna it's pot luck . Good sauna and steam room , could do with turning a couple of the rooms from singles to doubles which could be done with some thought . Over all my favourite sauna . Will.
