Very disappointed with this restaurant. The owner continues to block safe passage for community members trying to get safely to work. If he could park in the loading bay nearby that would be a safer solution for everyone.
Four of us went to Damascus Gate for a birthday celebration last Friday. COVID regulations were strict, the atmosphere was gorgeous, the food was incredible and the service was unbeatable! It all felt very safe, and really helped us relax and enjoy our meal. Emilio was a dream and an absolute joy. We brought our own wine, and at the end of the meal the waiters gave the birthday boy a Fez hat and brought our dessert out with a lit candle to sing happy birthday! Would 100% recommend this place. Will be going back soon. Beautiful!!
Every time I go here I fall in love with the place a little bit more. From the food to the decor and service, it is all outstanding. Thanks for giving us a great night on Saturday and being so accommodating as usual.
I took my wife here on her birthday and it was a great choice. Staff is nice and attentive and gave us good meal recommendations. Food was very well prepared, not too oily or salty, nicely spiced with Middle Eastern spices. Wife was delighted. Plenty of vegan options was definitely a plus, but I equally enjoyed the chicken in rich tomato sauce with chickpea. Very good Covid-19 measurements.
One of the best places in the city! Food is amazing and the grill menu is to die for! Staff is really kind and they always go out od their way to make you feel welcomed. Can't wait to go again!!!!
Really love it here. The owner, Gandhi, is a classic friendly character and a great host. The mezze are excellent and generously portioned. Delicious Syrian flatbread and olive oil with feta cheese. Interesting and unusual deserts (including baklava made by Gandhi himself). There is sometimes belly dancing in the evenings.
Excellent authentic Middle Eastern food, good value, nice atmosphere and super friendly manager & waitress. Highly recommended.
