After waiting for almost exactly an hour and fifteen minutes for our order in a dining room that wasn't busy, we were given one of the three items we ordered. Except it wasn't what we ordered. We asked for the one-out lamb, the crawfish, and the sampler appetizer. This was our first experience with this kind of food. We didn't realize it wasn't even the correct meat until later. After tasting the dish (in the picture) I quickly realized that the meat was rotten. Literally rotted meat. It was stretchy and it smelled horrific. We tried a few bites to be sure - bad idea. My friend was vomiting pretty bad about 20 minutes later. Furthermore, the food was all served on disposable plates and cutlery. Even the glasses were Dollar Store plastic. We couldn't believe what we were given and left before waiting to get the remaining items. It tool nearly two hours to complete our visit. The manager was kind enough to only charge us for the drinks we had. That said, the place had very interesting art in the front and I think it might be a fine place to have some hookah and drinks, but I would avoid getting food at any and all costs. Avoid the food.

Food is great and reasonably priced however, those cooks will occasionally go crazy with the salt!

This is my second time at this place and my last. Food is good BUT be prepared to wait hours if you’re ordering takeout. First time we went, we waited about an hour but we ordered when we got there so I could understand the wait time a little. This time we called in our order at 1PM and was told it would be ready in 30 minutes. We arrived at the restaurant around1:45PM and asked the “waiter” for our order since we called in almost an hour prior and he said he wasn’t sure about that but kept saying he just got there for his shift but would check and see if it was ready. He came back and said it would be about 20 minutes because they had to cook everything. At this point my friend and I are both annoyed because it should have been ready at least that’s what we were told over the phone. We waited ANOTHER HOUR for this food and meanwhile this “waiter” never came back to let us know how much longer we would be waiting. I had to find this kid (you can’t tell who actually works there and who is a customer because everyone dresses the same) and ask him if he could check and with a little attitude he went back there to do some BS and never came back to let me know anything as if he was avoiding me. I never raised my voice or got an attitude with him so the least he could do was show some decent customer service. There were also two Hispanic ladies there that were waiting even longer than we did but FINALLY around 3PM the food came out. We paid and left. I will NEVER come back to this place. There are other African food places that offer better and quicker service. I try to support black businesses as much as I can but when you get service like this it’s no wonder we get such a bad reputation. We originally thought about ordering through Uber Eats but glad we didn’t because we probably would’ve waited all afternoon AND evening for that food.

Waited over an hour for a takeout order that was ordered 30 minutes prior to arrival. They stated it will take 20 minutes. Did not receive anything after standing in the lobby for 49 minutes. No one showed up to the togo counter. The bar did nothing to help. Ended up leaving after being here for too long this happened 20 minutes ago I left empty handed poor service. Sub par would not recommend this place to anyone do not waste your time.

The restaurant is wonderful! Spacious floor decorated with African (Kenyan) artifacts. The portions are bountiful, delicious and reasonable priced. To top it all of? We casually met Nonini (a prolific Kenyan artist) . Highly recommend it!
