When my pet turtle passed away unexpectedly and suddenly, I wanted to find another (enclosure was properly cleaned and disinfected). Tried a few other area stores that either didn't have aquatic turtles, or they had very sad-looking ones. Petco had about four Cumberland sliders all in good health, so I picked one out. A kind employee named Amanda helped snag her and box her up. Everything she said and did professed love and respect of the animals she cares for. You could tell she was concerned for the turtle's wellbeing without being remotely condescending. She shared eating habits of that particular turtle for my benefit. Absolutely a delightfully positive experience after the sadness of losing a pet that morning. The new turtle is named Hodag :)
Seemingly everything was going to be great, get my puppy a wash and nail trim. They even gave the chance to move the appointment up by an hour to get her in sooner. On the website it asks for you to bring in all paperwork showing the animal is up to date on shots. What they don't tell you is that they want to see a receipt of these shots from the vet, not confirmation that they were done. We adopted our puppy, brought in ALL the paperwork we had, and there are no receipts of shots in it, so our puppy was turned away. Pathetic. I will find a different place to give my business to.
the employees are wonderful every time there. I was concerned about a small animal and the employee took her out and we both got to see she was just fine. That is amazing, since other stores will act like you are putting them out if you ask
