3 RF great place to observe stars.

We just returned from an amazing night watching the annual Perseids meteor shower, thanks to the truly dark skies and fantastic volunteer astronomers hosting a star gazing party at Three Rivers Foundation. The location is about 3 hours from DFW, but well worth the drive if you are serious about looking at stars. The several large telescopes/observatories that gave crystal views of Saturn and other galaxies and nebula, and they even had a telescope that allowed you to safely view the sun and its solar flares come day break. The facility was not only well kept, they even had sparking bathrooms, showers, and air conditioned cabins and bunk areas. But the thing that makes this foundation truly special is its people who really know their astronomy and are so kind to explain even the most basic facts to adults and children alike.
