I was told to leave my hand bag at the cloak room that didn’t seem to have a safe. The reason given was that it is too large, though it is an average sized hand bag that I carry with me everyday and never was called too big in any other occasion including air travel. Then I was given two plastic bags to put my valuable belongings and carry with me in the museum. I found this not normal at all. So I left and heard the museum paid my ticket price back to the group.

Loved the vintage details there
Quite interesting to learn how the most privileged in Russia's region used to live in the early 1600s. I would have loved more info in English.
The palaces of the Romanov boyars - the museum of the Moscow boyars of the XVI-XVII centuries, is a branch of the State Historical Museum. The only surviving building of the large estate of the Romanov boyars.
A pain to find, no signs at all. You have to walk trough some weird backstreets and near construction sites. But the museum was worth every second! Amazing! Great find if you're interested in exactly how Boyars (nobles) lived in those times, every little detail is thought out and interesting.
A nice hystorical place
Russians folk house and bla bla bla
