We joined John's ghost tour last night. John gave us a fabulous evening using his incredibly, vast knowledge of Canterbury's history. He enthralled us with his spooky stories mixed with his wit and humour. We spent the entire tour either laughing or jumping out of our skins (me mostly I think!) What a fantastic entertainer you are John. Thank you so much. I have already started to recommend you to my friends. Stay safe in these odd times. x

We had such a fantastic tour with John last week. We are local to the area and yet know nothing about the history of the place, well John soon sorted that out! He was a marvelous guide and had me and my mum in stitches the whole way round and pointed out so many things we'd walked past every day without even noticing. He had us enthralled and his knowledge of Canterbury is second to none, we were really impressed and will definitely be booking on to one of his other guided tours. We strongly recommend you let John guide you round this beautiful city, you wont be disappointed

It was okay but there was more focus on the guides own personal history and political views rather than the town. Other ghost tours I've been on around the country (Chester, Bath, York, Robin Hoods Bay) focused on historical events that could be twisted into spooky. It was unclear if what we were being told was based on a historical event or not. We did the historical tour the next day and found that the city clearly has plenty of good historical scope for a great ghost tour. The Ghost tour guide is clearly a talented guide and story teller but may have got a bit hung up on some minor events that don't really have enough about them to make them plausibly terrifying. A comment to the guide... you're a great story teller but maybe add some more scary stories, based on true stories, and dwell less on each story.

Adults and children (11-15 years) thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Ideal walking tour after a bite to eat - history, comedy, ghosts and legends. Even if you're local, you're bound to find something eerie by scratching beneath the surface
