Tamiami Tacos is a family run gourmet taco restaurant that is in it's first permanent storefront. They still do the gourmet foodie truck circuit, and are only open from 11 am to 5 pm because of that. I work nearby and do a once a week pilgrimage to Tex-Mex restaurants in the area for lunch. I ordered a bowl for takeout. I had several choices of protein (I went for the marinated grilled chicken) and a dizzying array of choices of what to put on it. I chose the mango chutney amongst the rice, queso, black beans, pico de gallo, greens and other ingredients. See attached photo. The bowl was within a dollar of what I normally pay for a bowl at other places. Tuesday is two tacos for 5. Their tacos options are exotic and good sized. Nice!
Food was amazing, Prices were great, and service was wonderful! I love all the fun blends of tacos they have, a Carolina BBQ (which was delicious), a Thai shrimp one (probably my favorite), and much more!!! So many great fusion flavors! This place must truly have a taco artist for a chef :) Highly recommend!

We stumbled upon this hidden treasure last year visiting from NYC and we are back for round two a year ago to the day! Don't be fooled by the stigma of gas station food, these Taco's are terrific!! Better than all the other places from Siesta key and St. Armand circle to anything around this area. Fish taco Friday was delicious, consisting of two overly stuffed tacos filled with crispy savory fish fillets, topped with homemade mango chutney and fresh shredded cabbage. The pork tacos are to die for as well, with a choice of chipotle ranch or avocado lime sauce to top it off. You can literally hit the jackpot with this creative special, 1 taco, 1 sm fountain soda, 1 bag of chips and a lottery ticket for the Florida Lottery!! All for 7 bucks!! And don't forget to fill your car up and not just your belly. It's hard to believe such great food is in a gas station. Stop by and say hi to Robert the owner tell him the New York couple sent ya!
