Unum is the most incompetent company I have ever worked with. The people are extremely nice on the phone, but they never do what they say they will and frequently do the opposite of what you ask them to do. Still 2 months later after my surgery and they still owe me 2,000. They seem to intentionally delay checks through different methods (oops! we sent it to the wrong address even though you already updated it both online and through phone!...). Also getting them to set up direct deposit was insane because I had set it up on the website more than a month before my surgery, but then after my surgery they say they need to email me a form to set it up. 2 weeks later when I called asking about it they say they actually need me to send them a check now as well, but no one called/texted/emailed me to let me know this. Most recently, they never deposited one of the checks so I called asking them to deposit it. Instead of depositing it like they said they would, they ended up taking that amount out of my bank account causing me to overdraft. When I called back to ask what's going on, I got a few different people saying they don't have access to the info so they can't help me but they will ask someone that can to call me back later. They call back 6 hours later in the day when I'm at work and leave a voicemail saying they thought they gave the money to the wrong person so they were reversing the most recent check (for the same amount, which I had already received) so they could resend it to me again at the same bank account. Obviously they should be able to see in their system which one's have been deposited and which ones haven't, and they should be able to see who it is going to. It doesn't make sense, but these are the kinds of games they always play. I have made over 10 calls to the company in the last 3 months trying to get them to straighten out what should be some straight forward issues.

Horribly service !!!! On top of recovering from surgery which is already hard enough, And going back and forth with sending in information with myself and Dr. office and still not receiving any payment really shouldn’t have to be so difficult , especially when I pay for insurance nobody should have to go threw this especially on a difficult time when recovering from surgery.
