Beppu, Japan
2-43 Kaminoguchicho
N/A
Onsen ONLY for the union members. It opens for the public (free entrance) for a few days and certain hours during the Beppu onsen festival and that's how I managed to bathe. Check out the onsen festival webpage if you are planning to visit. You need to bring your own towel and shampoos, no parking. It is located in a public hall, ground floor is the onsen, 1st floor is the public hall. The changing area is integrated with the bathtub so you can see your stuff while bathing. The whole place is really spacious! The tub is small size, square shaped, attached at the wall with endless space around it to wash up. Blue tiles inside the tub, pink for the floor, yellow for the walls. The local who was bathing when I went in was very friendly and explained me how to open the hot water source if I wanted the water to be of higher temperature. The water in the tub was a bit dirty (lots of hair) but guess it can happen during the onsen festival when so many people visit the onsens.
