Bataan Nuclear Power Plant is a nuclear power plant, completed but never fueled, located on a 3.57 square kilometre government reservation at Napot Point in Morong, Bataan. It was the Philippines' only attempt at building a nuclear power plant. Construction of BNPP was the Government's response to the 1973 oil crisis, as the Middle East oil embargo had put a heavy strain on the Philippine economy. President Ferdinand Marcos believed that nuclear power is the solution to meeting the country's energy demands and decreasing dependence on imported oil.
I was amazed that they have opened the plant to the public. It was a great experience touring the whole place.
After watching Chernobyl, (and I suggest you, scientist or not should watch as well) -- It is humbling to realize that although this is a great source of sustainable energy, it's a far greater risk to have it fail. But the photos look great 5/7 would recommend.
Would be best if it was reactivated
I work here There is nothing to fear in this world We only need to understand Now is the time to understand more So we may fear less
This is a awesome nuclear power plant
A good place to educate oneself about the benefits of nuclear energy.
