Unfortunately there is only one entry, which evaluates both the castle ruin Scharzfels, and the restaurant there. 1. The castle ruin is worth a visit in any case, the landscape is very beautiful (especially in autumn when the deciduous trees become colorful) and one has a wonderful view of the Harz foreland from the ruin. 5 stars 2. In the restaurant \Burgruine Scharzfels\ there is a quite simple selection of hearty and sweet dishes, some of them are homemade according to the menu (the soups are recommended), from others you should keep distance (cappuccino, chips). So all in all, I would recommend it for a small snack, but nothing more. 3 stars

The 10/11th century castle remained impregnable for centuries then fell after a siege in 1761 and was blown up. Today the well-kept ruin is free to enter and makes a good destination for a forest hike. There are detailed information boards.
Very nice view, but it's quite small. You probably don't spend here more than half an hour. There are also a cafe, but because of covid-19 restrictions we didn't want to wait a queqe. I recommend to visit, if you are in the neighborhood.
Nice service. Great beer at the right place.
Nice place for a short trip. Filled with history, free entry.
Interesting place in beautiful surroundings
