What a delightful surprise! We decided to come here on a whim, to try something new. We wanted to sample a little of everything and we did! We loved the duck spring roll, pan fried pork buns, fried shrimp dumplings, grilled lobster, and grilled scallops. We also enjoyed fried calamari, pork fried dumplings, bacon & asparagus rice, pineapple rice, and seafood Tom Yum soup. Out of all of that the fried shrimp dumplings were absolutely amazing! The service was great, the food was beautifully plated, and we took plenty of leftovers to continue to enjoy it later. I highly recommend this restaurant!

My daughter likes to discover new places to try and this restaurant, by far, is the best Chinese food that Asheville has to offer. We order all the appetizers to get the full range of flavors available and you can't beat it. I tell everyone who is looking for great Chinese food.

Absolutely fantastic, from service, to quality. Dined with a party of 6, and was seated within minutes. Decided to take a more traditional approach to our dining experience by requesting an order of each of their dumpling offerings and sharing it between the table. Each order of dumpling came with 6 pieces (minus the pork buns that came with 3 huge buns so we got a double order of the pork buns) which worked in our favor. Each order of dumplings we received came with a specifically tailored sauce that paired perfectly with each of the dumpling flavors. My personal favorite dumpling sauce (I’m guessing) was a mix of: Soy, Apple Cider Vinegar, and Ginger. My favorite part of the whole experience was that each order of dumplings did not come out all at one time. A new order of dumplings would arrive just as we were finishing the previously delivered order. The waitress was very knowledgeable, professional, and patient. I would highly recommend Shanghai Dumpling House, and I will be dining here again!

The dumplings are amazing. We also got cheese wontons and they were on point. We sat at the bar. They had 4 local drafts on tap and had a list of cocktails. We ordered a crouching tiger shot and it was delicious. The dumplings are pork, chicken or vegetarian and made fresh and taste very good. You can also watch them cook. I will definitely be back. Service was great and no complaints.

Delicious stir fried needles. The soup dumplings and pork fried dumplings may have previously frozen - the pork dumplings were tasty but soggy on the bottom. The soup dumplings were so soft on the bottom that some fell apart completely and about 75% of them tore even when being extremely gentle. Good flavors, but a bit disappointing.

Great dumplings and friendly service. My favorite thing we tried was the Rock Shrimp, while not a dumpling they were absolutely delicious. The dumplings were much larger than expected but we're still great nonetheless. We tend to judge places based on their hot and sour soup, theirs wasn't bad but was not the best I've ever had. Their dipping sauces were on point, enjoyed all the flavors.

Good friendly service! I wish I could say I loved the food as much as its predecessor's fare, but at least it's tasty. Maybe they could offer a large ramen noodle bowl. I really miss that. No one else in town has a truly good one.
