Pretty spot. Great place to rest when out hiking.

Pretty area and a nice place to stop off on a walk through Dovedale. There are a couple of benches and a some grassy areas to sit on, if the benches are taken. A small take-away shop where you can get drinks, hot pasty's or an ice cream. There are also some public toilets
Amazing end of the Dovedale tour, impressive bridge in lovely village.
Loved it! I want to go back again!
Most people reach this at the 'end' of the walk up from Dovedale, buy an ice-cream or coffee from the friendly little kiosk in the village, then turn round and walk back down the valley. But this is a special place, especially in winter. The little visitor centre (below the toilet block) helps to explain the history. Bring some break to feed the hungry, almost too friendly ducks, and if it is warm, bring water shoes as you and your kids can spend the whole day building little dams in the flow of the river. Or maybe a little fishing net to chase after the tiddly fish in the pond. And for a special kind of peace, don't forget the short walk up to the little old church, signposted from the kiosk.
