I am a novice/hobbyist who was in search of a suitable replacement multimeter. Initially I contacted Amecal via telephone, I spoke to Stephen who offered friendly advice, and I subsequently arranged a visit to the premises in order to further discuss my options. Upon arrival, I was greeted by courteous and professional staff, Stephen took the time to patiently demonstrate different models (based upon my needs) prior to my making a purchase. I felt the advice offered was straightforward and objective (a rare commodity these days); especially since I was not spending a fortune. I have nothing but high praise for Amecal and all involved. In my opinion, a very professional ‘customer focused’ company who go the extra mile. Very highly recommended!

Short version: Excellent company and excellent products. Their customer service is the best in the entire industry. Long version: This company is a hidden gem! I conduct research in the US and decided to try out AMECal since a lot of my fellow colleagues had a bad experiences with their Fluke meters. I ordered a ST-9929 to use in my research lab and it arrived in a few days and is a very well built and accurate meter. I also like that AMECal offers half-price calibration (ISO standard) when you buy a meter. I was so happy with the ST-9929 that I decided to buy a calibrated ST-9905 for personal and home use. If you are an average consumer looking for a meter, I recommend the ST-9905. However if you're either a professional or looking for True RMS and higher CAT protection, I would recommend the ST-9929. Customer Service: This deserves it's own section because AMECal's customer service is the best I have ever come across in this entire industry. I would especially like to mention Lucy. She has been very responsive and helpful with all my technical and logistical inquiries! Truly an amazing company and amazing employees. My colleagues are very excited to get their meters in the mail soon In the future, I plan on buying some leakage testers since currently in our lab we are having some issues with the GFCI breakers Possible improvements: I only wish if AMECal could offer faster shipping than the standard international postage. Overall, a pleasure to do business with AMECal and am very delighted with my DMMs.
Clearly a company with customer service in mind, something you don't come across every day. Supplied me a part in two days. I will be recommending them. First class.
It beggars belief this company is still in business! Simple calibration checks on my 3 instruments took weeks, when I called to chase them up I was either fobbed off or spoken to in a very aggressive manner. I later found out the aggressive person was actually the owner/manager of the business!!! I was dumbfounded by this, surely he should be setting an example to his staff and dealing with customers in the right way? Avoid at all costs!
You would think that this is a business like any other but it is just your first impression. Behind AMECaL brand there are people designing their own state of the art testing equipment that nobody else has to offer. Old engineering school in a very modern edition. Good Job!
