Great week in sunny Portugal with Ray & team. I was looking for a holiday where I would come back feeling fresh, recharge my batteries and eat healthier compared to your usual holiday (Ray is a great cook – simple food but done really well!). The resort is stunning, has all the facilities you would need and want. I had a pedicure in the hotel spa on one of the afternoons I took 'off'. We also had 'active' rest days which is so important and did activities like surfing or a nice 10k walk along the coast. Would highly recommend and think this is something I'll try and build into my annual holiday routine.

Perfect kick start for your health! I can still feel all the positivity, energy and hard work from the one week with Algarve Fitness. I was looking for a retreat that caters to my current goal to follow a ketogenic diet for weight loss and more mental clarity and have this combined with a high level of activity and training as I had been struggling with that combination before. Very happy I found Ray who truly caters to each individual's needs when it comes to food - chapeu! and workout. The team of local and super experienced trainers, physiotherapists, inspirational yoga and water sports instructors, and boxing champs together with Ray (the brain and the chef) and Eu (personal trainer and go-to guy with a big heart) made this week physically challenging but mentally rewarding. Great mix of workouts with a personal focus on your goals, group trainings - as hard as you want them to be - and amazing nature exploration on hikes, kajak tours, etc. There was still enough time to chillax with the group, make use of sauna, pool and spa of the resort or go for walks and wine or coffee down 15 min to Carvoeiro or just take some me-time with a good book. This is what I think stands out about the concept of Algarve Fitness. There is a superb framework in place to help people get into shape, learn about great, easy to cook food and enjoy nature and a luxury accommodation but it all is done in a non-drill-bootcampy kind of style and very honest, down to earth. No promises of shedding a stone here but if you are after that kick start or a gentle reminder towards a healthier you in an amazing surrounding with great people, then Ray and his team might just be the right people to check out.

Just back from a week AlgarveFitness! Would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a week away to recharge the batteries, up your fitness, eat healthier, learn proper training techniques and get one with nature ( coastal and mountain walks are stunning! ) Ray cooked up some really great dishes which were super healthy and added bonus...he sends on the recipes at the end of the trip! Eu the trainer was brilliant. My goal was to build strength and I definitely felt stronger by the end of the week. There was a nice mixture of training and relaxation time. There’s a spa in this resort so after a day of training you have the option of getting a massage or treatment. Ray brought in some incredible physiotherapists. As a physiotherapist myself I was blown away by their knowledge! My group were great fun so there was plenty of belly laughing too which is always good for the soul! Thanks Ray and Eu for a fabulous week...until next time!

Had a superb week with Ray and crew. Great group with mix of ages and fitness abilities , everyone got on really well. Atmosphere relaxed and casual, food healthy and delicious - and surprisingly no cravings or hunger pangs! Training pitched to suit all levels and great fun, with plenty of variety and not to forget enough downtime factored in for relaxation!

Thank you Algarve Fitness for this wonderful experience¡ It was a perfect balance between a fitness retreat and a relaxing vacation. Coach Eu was the perfect balance between pushing you to your limits while motivating and encouraging you to push harder and better. Great week! I can’t recommend Ray, EU and the team highly enough. The 5 star luxury of the resort, Ray’s delicious cooking and the broad range of activities with so much 1 on 1 attention made the whole experience an absolute pleasure. From the second we arrived we wanted for nothing. There was always something going on but plenty of relaxation time too meaning I came home refreshed and feeling amazing!! All levels and abilities were very ably catered for and I learned a lot about health, fitness and nutrition (and Portuguese wine!!).

Great break, great company, it was such a fun week and just what the doctor ordered. I admit that I’d a beer or two in the evenings. For me the week was basically about detoxing body and mind, de-stressing and being active and eating clean for a week. That’s what I did. I’d new experiences, and really enjoyed the stand-up paddle boarding. The activities included a 20km hill-trek across some beautiful countryside, two 40km cross-country bike rides which apart from the exercise, were really interesting. I skipped the surfing classes because I’ve done it before, but the guys really enjoyed it. The formal fitness training was mainly in the resort but we did a beach workout one day near where were going to Stand-up paddle later. I came home a few kilos lighter, and it’s probably the first holiday I’ve had where I’ve come home feeling lighter and better than when I left.
