Many times I have referred potential criminal defense clients to Joe King and Ryan Campbell, when my representing a co-defendant barred me from representing another party in the same case. I once watched Joe King trying a DWI case, on the road to an acquittal, as Joe calmly cross examined the police officer, getting limited resistance from the officer, perhaps with the officer's seeing that it was better to concede small points -- that added up to many great defense facts -- rather than to have more needling cross-exam questions than necessary come his way. Ryan is a very good lawyer who combines ability, powerful kindness, and a realistic understanding of and approach to the gladiator fight that so often is involved in criminal defense.
