Having eaten at another El Patron location and not been excited with the experience, it was with some anticipation that we had lunch at El Patron North. Markedly different from the Montgomery location, the place is smaller and more "strip mall" than destination. While a bit concerned about the prices (they are a bit high) we nonetheless found items on the menu that we looked forward to. The place was busy and the servers running. The manager was uninterested in the dining room activity, as he was mostly in the back of house. Servers for the most part were doing heir best to offer good service....except for our, of course. Cat was like the energizer bunny, running from table to table. Details overlooked, no personality at all - she was the classic "I can handle 10 tables myself" server. Hint - guests do not want to be handled. Short story - food was delicious and we'll be back, but we will ask for anyone other than Cat. Plan to spend at least 20 per person...if you drink alcohol, much more. Also, if there was a chance to leave a comment on their web site before posting this review, I would have, but since the ownership does not care to offer a place to comment so that they can address service issues, so be it.

We came, we tried, and it was alright, not the best, but alright. Wife ordered the Frito pie, and I ordered the Huevos Ranchero's. There's a difference between NM Huevos Ranchero's and California Huevos Ranchero's damn i miss California cooking. Other than that like I said it was alright.
Great food. Great Vegetarian and vegan options. Nice place to have lunch. Outdoor seating. Smaller restaurant with a cafe vibe. Friendly servers. I think our server is new and not super attentive but he's very friendly.
Nice pleasant experience. Clearly short staffed but worth a little wait. Nice live music when we were there!
Average tacos and slow service; however, I was told other locations are far better yet El Patron North lacks this distinction. Carne asada wasn't seasoned and meat was extremely tough. Tacos were average and didn't even come with salsa. Service was super slow for only having 14 tables in the restaurant. When asked for another beverage it never came and waited 25 mins after completing my meal to receive the check. Sopaipillas at the end of the meal were warm and are the only reason keeping this review at 2 stars. Definitely don't recommend coming here unless you need a cheap tasteless meal.
The family pack is the best! For 30 it easily feeds 4-5 people. Comes w/ beans, rice and chips w/ salsa as well. You can't beat the deal and they have the best chile rellenos in town!
The place was clean and tables cleared quickly. The green chilli is spicy at least for me. The green chilli chicken casserole is very tasty. The taco salad was delicious. Refills on drinks could have been a little more consistent but overall a decent experience.
We had the tacos because it was Tuesday. Boy... they made Tuesday goooood! Excellent service and food. Clean. Nice environment.
