I realize I left a review with a junk mail account, but wanted to also leave a review with my personal account. Agora is a wonderful organization that helps so many people and I am thankful for its existence.

Such a wonderful resource for those who are struggling with depression, anxiety, or other mental health issues. I've had numerous friends who have recommended Agora and say that Agora has made a significant impact in their life. My wife was also a volunteer there for years and has only said positive things. I'm saddened to see some of the negative reviews from some people who complain about getting a machine when they don't realize the sheer volume of calls that come through the center and that there are only so many volunteers working at a time.

I went to an online chat through the national suicide prevention and was transferred through to this center. It took a little bit but I was finally put in contact with someone named Jessica. She stayed on the chat with me for almost 2 hours and really helped me through what I was going through and gave me tips. We also worked on setting up a plan that I could follow if I ever felt suicidal. I really appreciate being able to be in touch with someone during a rough time that can help me through and genuinely cares. Thank you all for what you do.

I call here all the time and the people who work here are so helpful, sweet and supportive. They listen to you ramble or just cry and they're always the sweetest people. I'm so happy and fortunate I have this place to call to fall back on when I need someone to listen.

I'm sure they're a good resource if you can get a hold of them, but I have never been able to. The phone is answered by a machine that says they'll call you back within 24hrs if you leave your contact info. Like most people though, I can't risk having them randomly calling me during work or when I'm in class so I never leave my contact info. They either need to get more staffing or create a different policy for returning missed calls because they have set this hotline up in a way where people can't use it.

I called this place after my friend killed herself and they were great. The counselor I talked to was really nice and patient and didn't rush me. I have a couple of other friends who called about other stuff and they had good experiences too. Apparently you can call them about anything, but since they are all volunteers there sometimes isn't anyone there overnight. But you can leave a message and they'll call you back.

When I don't feel real they help me cope they listen to me they talk to me I'm lonely they are my friend they will always give me coping mechanisms and exercises and when I help me to calm down and when I am hallucinating they will tell me to focus and they will help me to try to figures out what's real and not and sometimes I can't tell what's real but I always call and talk to James and another girl and I tell them about my job and how my boss makes me feel bad and I like my job really I just do t like how I'm treated there if I could give agora a hug I would. I wish that I could just feel normal but they help me feel better when I am feeling awful about myself . Thank you
